Buying a New Car? How Easy or Hard it is?

This is my personal experience since the day my current car (Maurti Zen 2002 fully loaded) stalled in the middle of busy Old Madras Road during a evening peak hour traffic. I had driven my car for around 7 years now and never experience a stall before. My dear friend and collegue had to get down push the car to a side to avoid creating more issues to traffic movement, thanks to him for helping me out that night, else i wouldn't have know how i would have done pushing my car to a side alone.

The coincidence was that my friend had just asked me whether I will or will not change my car.

To give you a background of my car that i keep flaunting about it, I had purchased it in 2005 in August. It was like I feel in love with it since the day I brought it. I was so possessive about it that i never let anyone drive it, and i had driven every where i had been. Everybody knew how much i loved that car. Even my Director once told my wife once she in my life hope that i will be less more interested in my car. I drove it so much that in 5 years it did over 1 Lakh KMs

You might call it madness, but i call it passion. Ok back to our story, like the movie Inception where Leonardo DiCaprio implants dreams (ideas) into others. My friend planted a dream more of a thought to change my car.

Trip to Auli

It all started on the day the 15th of December, could not have a proper sleep the previous night as had to catch a plane to Delhi from Bangalore.
Me,My Wife Lalitha and her friend Kanchana got ready at 3AM on the 15th to catch our flight at 5 AM.

Due to some maintenance issues at the airport the check in had been delayed. But we were able to get our boarding passes on time.

Once on board the flight, it was finally to take rest, and we three dosed off.

The snaps below are the ones taken just before we three hit the deck for a catnap.

When we were mid way to Delhi, as it was winter we got the see the most spectacular view of the clouds fully covered over the horizon(from the flight window) at the early hours of the morning of 15th of December.

We reached Delhi around 8:30 AM, and as we stepped out of the well climate controlled aircraft, we had the chill of our life. It was freezing cold in Delhi. this cold even though with our heavy warm clothing.

As we waiting for a luggage, i was checking with my friend whom we had become close when we came to Delhi previous. He is Wahid, basically from Kashmir, and a very good family friend of mine, helped us in our Travel Arrangement and our Accommodation in Delhi, as we had to catch the train towards Haridhwar at night.

We All decided to rest for sometime in the Hotel
were our bookings were made, and wait for the other group of 8 members to join us from Hyderabad. This group had a relatively relaxed journey towards Delhi as their flight was scheduled to noon, and they were likely to reach Delhi around 3 PM.

We had delayed in reaching the airport to pick the 8 members due to some unrealistic traffic jam, and it was their first trip to Delhi (i am sure they were cursing me and lali). But anyways, we moved into our hotel to take rest.

Forgot to intro the 8 new members for this trip, they are Jags Uncle, Jag Uncle's Wife, their daughter Likitha, Lalitha's friend Roopa, and Jags family friend and family.

I was much excited about the whole trip and it was like an adventure thiller movie, like waiting for what is going to happen next, and i just couldnt keep myself in the hotel room...so came out into the lobby picked up a takeaway tea from the resturant, and just took a stool out of the hotel. Then i also realized that i had pick up a cake (blue berry chocolate cake) from Nirula Connaught Place for Lalitha's Birthday on the next day. Roopa had acompanied with me as she wanted to purchase a leather jacket.

In the mean while Lalitha was getting worried as we had to depart to the station for an onwards journey to Haridwar, basically Roopa had delayed as she busy trying to pick up a leather jacket and unable to decide.

After all the shopping and cake purchase, by the time we rushed the hotel and all had packed and been eagerly waiting for me and Roopa to return. We freshened up and left immediately towards the railway station. Our train was scheduled to leave at 8:30 PM, and we had reached the station DELHI S ROHILLA station at around 8 PM. to give a back ground of or situation, it was cold, and this station is like abandoned, no people around, it was kind of spooky.

Anyways, we were waiting for the train to arrive, and i reached at around 8:45 PM. We boarded the train and settled down in our respective berths assigned to all. Only a few hours boarding the train i learned never to book your tickets in a second class during the winters in the north. The sever winter cold caught us during our on wards journey towards Haridwar. Nobody could sleep due the winter cold.

Finally we reached Haridwar at 6:30 AM, where we were supposed to reach at 4:30 AM. we have been delayed by 2 hours, the vehicle that we have booked for onwards journey to Joshimat was waiting for us. Now as we were delayed the thing was how to get to Joshimat on time as the journey would take us around 12 hours to reach and we had to reach Joshimat before 4:30 PM. I spoke to the driver and tried to convience him to drop us at our destination and he didnt oblige saying the road is not good and we might not be able to reach there by that time.

We were ready to leave from the station packing our luggage on top of the swarg mazda 12 seater, this was when our first encounter with disaster struck.
